Blueprints in-home family interventions lead to positive behavioral change and improved parent-child interactions. Our personalized programs use proven methods based on the latest brain and behavior research.

Blueprints is an option that can be offered to parents who report struggles with a child's behavioral challenges, including those diagnosed with ADHD, ODD, OCD, Autism or Anxiety Disorders.

Blueprints works with families, in their home and in their community to teach, coach, model, and manage positive behavioral change. We build an individual's emotional, social and daily living skills, while improving family interactions and relationships.

Clinic-based treatment models are usually not enough to remedy extremely challenging behavior. Even therapeutic boarding schools address only the individual with behavioral challenges, and one issue at a time. It can be difficult for individuals to implement any new behaviors and ways of thinking in the home, where well-developed negative patterns of interaction exist.

Our holistic, in-situ approach works alone, or in tandem with any therapies that may already be in place.

How we help

Blueprints conducts thorough interviews, observation and analysis to create highly individualized programs. Most families work with Blueprints team members two or more times per week in their home and in their community. Services can include:

Individual Skill Building

Working one-on-one to teach and practice specific skills targeted to a child's deficits.

Parent Leadership Training

Imparting the specialized skills parents need to successfully parent a child with challenging behavior.

Family Coaching

Teaching, modeling and practicing respectful interactions and effective problem-solving strategies in the context of everyday life.

"We have found that our lives improve when we continuously follow through with the positive changes. Blueprints has helped us learn to make unique changes based on the unique needs of each of our children."—Parent

Sibling and Peer Coaching

Strengthening relationships between siblings and peers, strained by a history of challenging behavior.

Behavioral Counseling

Addressing the thoughts, feelings and emotions that have resulted from the negative interactions, situations and consequences related to behavioral challenges. We often partner with health care providers the family is already working with.

Educational Support

Partnering with a child's school and collaborating with special services directors, administrators, and classroom teachers to establish support systems that allow for academic success.

Frequently Asked Questions

What do services cost and are they covered by insurance?

Services cost less than therapeutic boarding school, but more than commercial programs like "The Total Transformation". As a result of recent health insurance reforms, it's possible some costs may be covered by private health insurance. We are in network with most insurance companies. Blueprints is an approved provider for Amazon, Boeing, Google and Microsoft's Autism/ABA Therapy Benefits. Additionally, costs may be covered by other funding sources such as the Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA).

Blueprints is licensed by the Washington State Department of Social & Health Services, Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery to provide behavioral counseling, psychotherapy, and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services. All team members are licensed or certified by the Washington State Department of Health as counselors or therapists and have extensive training and experience working with families with children who regularly exhibit challenging, defiant and oppositional behaviors. Additionally, all our behavioral consultants have master's degrees in behavior analysis or a related field and hold a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) credential from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).

Does Blueprints replace therapies currently in place?

Not necessarily. Counseling support and medication can be an important and essential part of the intervention plan. We frequently interface with a family's healthcare providers.

How do families know this will work?

Blueprints has a great track record, and will only take on clients whose challenges and goals align with our services. Our program is highly individualized to solve the specific problems that families are facing. We are happy to provide references.
